In preparation for the installation of Common Pollen, I’ve painted a to-scale version of the street and then documented a miniature version of the installation process, step-by-step. This was mostly to confirm that my plan is going to work, and to help me anticipate potential snags in the process. But it’s also an instructional video for volunteers: since neighborhood residents will be painting the mural with me, I want to share with them how we’ll get to the finished artwork, together.
